~Christmas is soon upon us!~
The birth of our lord and savior is once again upon us..........Where does the time go. The girls that seemingly were born just yesterday are now pushing 3 this coming February. A second birthday came in great with the kids getting spoiled rotten as usual leaving a couple parents wondering how they are going to keep them from being spoiled rotten little brats. The girls are certainly supporting the idea of the terrible two's leaving a couple of parents hoping that they are in their prime and on their way to less wildness. At the same time, they are at a very fun age leaving never a dull moment.
Spring time rolled around and it was time to get out and go play. We went camping at Glendo lake many times. The girls enjoyed playing on the beach, riding in boats, and even catching their first walleye with the help of dad of course. They take after Greg in that they are not scared of much including worms and holding up a fish for a picture. Two bad that a couple hours of getting into the worms there are about 30 little pieces instead of the dozen we started with. We also made it to the mountains a couple of times riding four wheelers and chasing the elusive brook trout. The girls got to catch a few and had a blast.
The end of the summer rolled around and hunting season was upon us. At the end of August, Greg heard a thump and a squeal, walked around the corner and found Allison on top of the recliner waiting for Madison to get out of the way so that she could take her turn for the jump. Madison gave Greg that old look he showed during his bike racing days that said..."Dad, I screwed up....This is bad" After a trip to the ER, it was found that she broke her Tibia in what was called a toddler fracture. She was in a cast for about 6 weeks. It didn't slow her down much as she learned to crawl at record speed and soon to walk on it. The cast had about wore through on the bottom when it came time to get it off. She still limps occasionally but none the less to beat most kids her age in a foot race, or tackle them if needed. We made a couple of trips to the children's hospital in Denver also to see a children's eye doctor for her eye. The outlook is not really good unfortunately. Madison currently wears a contact in her bad eye and wears a patch on the good eye to try to strengthen it as much as possible. Down the road, she may need surgery to straighten the weakness of the eye, not that you can tell much. Time will tell what happens, it is very rare in children, but regardless we are very blessed with two healthy and happy children. Allison is doing very well and is the ring leader of the bunch. They both are doing things constantly, can talk to good, don't eat much like most 2 year olds, and are a joy of our day. If you haven't heard of our family blog, check it out. It always has the adventures of the Renstrom girls and the trouble they get into most of all. www.renstromtwingirls.blogspot.com
Greg is still working at the mine as a mining engineer which keeps him busy. He still gets out often with hunting, fishing, or other regardless of the time of the year. The girls sure do enjoy to go with him. He did get a cow elk with his bow, but let the big bull and buck deer get away. Highlights of hunting season was being with a couple of friends boys as they got there bulls, and a trip to the bighorns with his dad and Lindsey's dad in which they both got elk.
Lindsey is the constant mom, taking care of the girls and house on a daily basis. This past year we had to put my beloved dog Icecube down as he had cancer. We are very Thankful that we had him for 11 wonderful years. He was truly the best dog and a very good buddy! She is still doing the photography business and has been busy on and off all year enjoying it as much as possible. You can check out her work on her photography blog www.sweetpeasphotographylrenstrom.blogspot.com . The girls certainly are mama's little girls, not that they don't love to go do things with daddy.
Looking forward to and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and 2011. May god bless you all in the richest ways.
